  PRICING AND BILLING

Although we are able to adjust any kind of pricing and billing method currently used by our client, we follow the MTIA standard pricing and billing system. This system is as follows:

PRICING METHOD

A per line charging (65 characters/line) guarantees our clients that they pay just for what has been typed. Line count is calculated by converting the document to plain text then dividing the number of characters by 65.

A character is any typed letter, number, space, punctuation mark, apostrophe, quote marks, and others. Spaces or carriage returns are represented internally in the text document and are counted.

Carriage Returns are classified to two: Soft Returns and Hard Returns.

A soft return is a new line that exists as the result of word-wrapping. They appear as a result of a function of the word processor. They do not really exist, thus they do not affect line count.

Hard returns are the result of the user pressing the enter key. Typically, hard returns are only found between paragraphs, and that point, there are two consecutive hard returns.

Hard returns count as two (2) characters (text documents on PC’s use two separate codes together to represent the hard return internally). So, the space between two paragraphs in a document will count as four (4) characters.

When the document is converted to plain text, graphics, headers, and footers are removed so they do not affect the word count.

BILLING METHOD

IT Outsource assures clients that our billing system adheres to the 5 Billing Method Principles of MTIA:

   • Verifiability: A medical transcription billing method should be subject to verification, with  such verification being available to parties to the transaction.

   • Definability: A medical transcription billing method should accurately define all  measurements and be free from definitional ambiguity.

   • Measurability: A medical transcription billing method should allow for complete understanding of the formulas used in its calculation and result in a clear and concise invoice.

   • Consistency: A medical transcription billing method should be generally reliable and  consistent in its application.

   • Integrity: A medical transcription billing method should be fair and honest, resulting in invoices that accurately reflect and charge fro service rendered.
